Ma 2ème souris USB ne marche que quand elle veut - Debian "Etch" (Testing)

Salut à tous,

J’ai un problème parmi tant d’autres sur ma Debian “Etch” (Testing)
J’aurais pu poster ce message sur Debian-fr.org mais je connais mieux ce forum-là, donc :slight_smile:

Sur mon PC, j’ai deux souris : une à boule (berk), fournie en kit avec mon clavier sans fil, de marque Chicony WUR0108, et une optique filaire plus ancienne de marque QWare, reconnue sous Linux comme Cypress USB/PS2 Combo Browser Mouse.

Le récepteur du clavier et de la souris sans fil est branché sur le port USB n°1 de mon PC, ma deuxième souris, sur le port USB n°2. Tous deux fonctionnent à merveille sans conflit, que ce soit sous Windows XP, ou sur mes anciennes distribs Linux (Mandrake 9 & 10, Ubuntu 5.x).

Par contre sous Debian, ma deuxième souris fonctionne aléatoirement.
Elle est bien reconnue au boot, comme l’autre (modules USB HID chargés etc.), mais ne réagit pas à l’écran de connexion.
Du moins au premier boot. Car là où c’est étrange, c’est qu’apparemment, il suffit que je ferme ma session pour que celle-ci se mette à fonctionner comme si de rien n’était, et ce, dès l’affichage de l’écran de connexion. Parfois, le fait de la débrancher/rebrancher la fait fonctionner, mais pas toujours.

Notez également que, tant que le curseur ne bouge pas, je n’obtiens rien de cat /dev/input/mice avec ma deuxième souris. Par contre quand je ferme et rouvre ma session pour la “récupérer”, là, elle répond sans problème à cette commande.

Une idée sur l’origine du problème ? Tout à l’air pourtant OK dans le log du serveur X et dans xorg.conf, mais je vous laisse en juger :

Tu utilises debian sarge ou etch ? parce que ce n’est pas pareil et sarge R1 ça reste sarge !

Pour ce qui est de ta souris, je peux seulement de donner des indice car je ne sais pas d’ou cela peut venir :

  • le noyau : sarge utilise un 2.6.8 qui est un peu ancien, et il y a eu deux “gros” remaniements de la gestion de l’usb depuis (un avec le 2.6.9 et l’autre je me souviens plus)
    Pour ma part, j’avais des problèmes avec le 2.6.7 et ma (seule) souris usb, je n’ai plus jamais eu de soucis une fois passé en 2.6.9 et +

  • xfree86 : et oui… sarge utilise encore le vieux xfree86 4.3, la gestion de périphériques d’entrée multiples commence seulement à être pris en charge correctement avec le dernier xorg (6.9/7.0) qui sait se servir du module du noyau “evdev” (avec encore quelques soucis pour l’instant, mais ça s’améliore très vite, je pense que pour la prochaine version, ça devrait être très correct)

Donc je te proposerai 2 possibilités :

  1. essais de compiler toi même un kernel récent et vois si ça marche bien avec, si c’est le cas, poste un bug chez debian si tu utilises leur kernel
  2. Si tu utilises ta machine seulement pour le desktop, passe à debian etch qui utilise actuellement xorg 6.9 et un kernel 2.6.15 (bientot 16), xorg 7.0 est prévu dans sid la semaine prochaine, mais c’est une grosse migration, il mettra au moins un mois à arriver en etch.

Oups, confusion, oui j’ai bien une Debian “Etch” Testing chez moi et non pas une “Sarge”.
Donc je suis bien avec Xorg et non XFree86 (d’où le xorg.conf). Je corrige :wink:
Quant à tes conseils, j’essaierai de les appliquer à mon prochain démarrage de Debian.
Mais si d’autres ont la cause exacte du problème en tête, qu’ils n’hésitent pas :wink:
