Dual screen

salut
je suis sur kubuntu 6.10 avec une saloperie d ati
sous windows en 2 click on a le bureau étendu mais sous linux pas gagné
j ai activé le big desktop horizontal dans les pilotes ati un chti reboot et je l ai miracle
seul problème il est valide que sur l ecran de login apres il se transforme en un bete mode clone
aucun tuto d ubuntu.fr n’ a resolu mon probleme.
si je veut le faire sous les paramètres de kde ca passe en mesa et j en veut pas
si qqun a une idée je prend pasque ca m enerve vaguement la

Ben j’ai eu le même soucis il y a quelques temps et j’ai abondonné. J’ai pas réussi à faire autrechose que du clone et en plus la résolution sur les 2 écrans était la même, alors que je voulais du 1680x1050 sur mon laptop et du 1280x1024 sur mon crt 17" :paf: .

Bref bon courage et je suis preneur si tu trouves un solution miracle (autre que d’attendre des pilotes ati qui gère ça :ane: ).

bon on as donc exactement le même problème je veut 2 resolution différente mais rien que si j y arrive avec la même resolution ça serais pas mal

après avoir pas mal galéré avec ma 9600, j’y étais arrivé en générant un xorg avec le live cd federa core pour ensuite l’utiliser sur ubuntu

je devrais pouvoir récupérer mon xorg dans la soirée
(enfin si je l’ai pas supprimé, j’ai abandonné linux pour l’instant)

je vous le poste dès que je l’aurais trouvé

par contre je tournais avec les drivers libres, mais vous devriez pouvoir en changer sans trop de pb

en fait, il me semble que si tu installes les drivers proprios, il suffit de faire un aticonfig --initial dual head (à vérifier) et il te crée les 2 cartes graphique comme sur mon xorg (mais je l’avais tellement bidouillé pour tenter d’installer beryl sur les deux écrans que je sais plus très bien ce que j’avais fait)

Salut, je m’etais inspiré des posts du topic qu’a donné Nico pour faire mon xorg.conf. Par contre j’utilisais le driver libre. Je te posterai mon xorg.conf si je le retrouve demain.

Bon bah dsl mais j’ai paumé les deux (fglrx et radeon) mais j’avais repris presque exactement ceux du topic du forum de mandriva cité plus haut. Et j’arrivais à avoir deux resolutions differente sur les moniteurs.
Par contre, du aux limitations du drivers en ce qui concerne la taille des textures 3D (2048x2048), il y avait quelque souci avec beryl et le bureau etendu horizontal (par contre en etendu vertical, ca passait puisque je faisais du 1280x1024 au max).
Un des seuls problemes que j’avais rencontré, c’etait dans l’ajustement de l’option MonitorLayout qui ne fonctionait pas toujours comme elle le devait (j’avais un crt et un lcd et j’etais obligé de mettre “CRT, CRT” il me semble)

Dual Screen indépendants (donc pas une extension du premier bureau pour faire du glisser de fenetre d’un écran à l’autre), si çà peut t’aider …
Cette config a été générée avec l’utilitaire aticonfig et donne 2 bureaux distincts avec des résolutions distinct, avec accélération 3d. Elle utilise bien évidemment le driver propriétaire.
